Simple & Pretty w Lighthearted Leaves

I've really been enjoying my quest for simple & pretty card making.

So in love with this Stamp Set!!!

My Style Info

  • You might be thinking this card doesn't look too simple because of the intricate colouring-in, but it is.
    • The trick is to Heat Emboss the Leaf image with White Embossing Powder, and then colour in using Stampin' Write Markers.
    • The embossing keeps the colour within the designated lines and does not let it bleed into the next space.
    • Colour won't stick to the embossed lines either. If you do get ink on the lines, just wipe away with paper towel or tissue.
  • If the Leaf was stamped in ink, permanent or not, it would be really hard to avoid colour bleeding into the next space and obliterate the outlines, therefore I know for myself, I would avoid it!
    •  So this is an easy solution to cut away the stress and still get a pretty and colourful image! I hope you'll give it a try!

I hope you'll give today's technique a try. Please let me know how you go!

Sweet Season with 'Jolly Christmas'

Here's one of the cards we made in my class last Saturday using 'Jolly Christmas' & 'Oh, What Fun' Stamp Sets.

My Style Info

  •  I don't know the name of this Technique, but you apply ink with sponges straight onto the 'Woodland' Embossing Folder.
  • It's a shame you can't see the colour too well in this photo, but at the top I applied Soft Sky, in the middle, Pear Pizazz, and down the bottom, Daffodil Delight.
  • The Sentiment is from 'Oh, What Fun' Stamp Set. This is a great all rounder set for Christmas Sentiments and it also co-ordinates with the 'Oh What Fun Tag Kit.' (Pg. 5 Christmas Cat')
  • I just LOVE these gorgeous 'Iced Rhinestones' - I'm up to my 3rd pack! They really set the sentiment off beautifully, which I Silver Heat Embossed.
  • And nothing better to accommodate the sentiment & Rhinestones are the 'Lots of Labels Framelits.' I really get lots of use out of these.

  • I stamped the 'Reindeer' in Wild Wasabi ink and fussy cut & mounted with Stampin' Dimensionals.

    Friendship Card w Lighthearted Leaves

This stamp set is fast becoming one of my all time favourites - Lighthearted Leaves!

    My Style Info

    • I looove that Lighthearted Leaves (Christmas Cat' Pg 44) has co-ordinating Dies - Leaflets Framelits - That equals No Hand Cutting!
    • The Leaflets Framelits Dies also co-ordinate with 'Vintage Leaves' Stamp Set and is available as a Bundle so you'll save 15%! (Annual Cat' Pg. 88).
      • I've used the Vintage Leaves Bundle on my card 2 Posts before this one.

    • I've Inlaid the Melon Mambo Large Leaf - Here's How
      • Die cut the leaf from your covering Whisper White Card Stock before you stamp Leaves. I've used Wild Wasabi Ink Pad.
      • Die cut a leaf from spare Melon Mambo Card Stock and glue in place once you've assembled the whole card.

    • This card is super easy to make and comes together really quickly.
    • The Sentiment is from 'Gift from the Garden' Stamp Set (Annual Cat' Pg. 81) and I can see these being a perfect pair for many cards to come!

All Is Calm with Wonderland Stamp Set

The card I have for you today is one that was available to make at my recent 'Christmas Smorgasbord Class.'

This card is easier to make than it looks because of the use of Tree Punch, Hearth & Home Window Die and Softly Falling Embossing Folder. And a super easy Glitter Technique (explained below).

    My Style Info

    • I love the Corrugated Card Stock for it's tactile appeal, used for the White Tree.
    • Gold Foil Sheets adds Elegance & Glamour. Used for Window and Tree Punch image.
    • Glitter adds Christmas Sparkle and Snow effect.
    • Snow Embossing Folder fills a negative space and ties the theme together.
    • Gold Heat Embossed 'Silent Night' co-ordinates beautifully.
    • Gold Cording wraps the whole look up, finishing with a stylish bow!

    Glitter Trees Technique

    • Stamp the Tree image from Wonderland Stamp Set in Archival Black ink - Christmas Catalogue pg. 19.
      • You need to use permanent ink so it doesn't bleed when we apply the glue.
      • Archival Ink is great as you don't have the horrible clean up that you get with StazOn. Just clean stamp as normal with Stampin' Mist and Stampin' Scrub.
    • Emboss image with Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
    • Using Stampin' Up! Glue Stick, apply glue all over the image and card stock piece.
    • Cover the glued piece with a good layer of Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter and press it all over so the glitter adheres to the glue. Shake of excess, and, voila!

    • Stampin’ Up! Thick Whisper White Cardstock is my choice for a sturdy Whisper White Card Base now. I use the regular Whisper White Cardstock for all other white needs, including Stamping, Heat & Dry Embossing, Matting, Glittering etc.
      •  FOR BEST RESULTS, score card before folding.

I hope you've enjoyed todays card.

Spring has Sprung & Sometimes Less is More!

Over on my Facebook Page I said I was normally a layer person when it comes to card making, but I'm trying to teach myself the joy of simplicity!

So here it is - Sometimes less is more; and it gets the message across none less beautifully!

This card is simple, fresh and pretty, and so very Spring time.

      My Style Info

      • I 'm loving the Vintage Leaves Stamp Set. It's so versatile as you can brighten the images up as I have here or you can tone them down for a vintage or Autumn look.
      • No Hand Cutting! The Stamp Set has matching Dies and is available as a Bundle where you'll save 15%!
      • Buttons are a great addition as they add detail and tangible feel.
      • Placing the same leaves under the button as in the greeting draws these two elements together.
      • Bakers Twine ties the whole card together.
Hope you like my effort to create something simplistic and pretty.
